Mojkovac, Montenegro (10 July 2010) -- Additional EUR 4 million will be invested through the project of rural areas development, being implemented by the Government of Montenegro, with the support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project will be implemented in seven municipalities that are included in the project, namely in Nikšić, Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, Žabljak, Petnjica and Šavnik, in which new water supply systems and new roads will be built and a significant number of local farmers, especially in terms of improving production and products placement, will be supported, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simovic stressed in Mojkovac earlier today.

DPM Simović also noted that this projec's successful implementation is another clear confirmation that this year will be the year of important investments in Montenegro’s agriculture, that successful cooperation with the EU and other international partners will be continued, stressing that the Government continuously pays special attention to the North development.

"Today we have the opportunity to confirm all of this on the field with our hardworking hosts. We have with us today presidents and vice presidents of the municipalities with whom we are implementing this project" DPM Simović told the press conference on the occasion of presenting the results of this year’s public call for the support through this project.
